DesignID office was tasked with the architectural design of a two-story detached house in an area of Aitoloakarnania, overlooking Lake Trichonida. The unobstructed view of the lake played a crucial role in determining the building's orientation, positioning both the indoor and outdoor living areas in direct contact with the view.
To achieve this, the main entrance of the house was positioned very close to the street level on the upper side of the plot, leaving a generous space for expansion towards the lake. Simultaneously, the building was placed near the side boundary of the plot, allowing for a large space for expansion towards the other side boundary as well.
The architectural approach treats the detached house as an urban building, while also incorporating elements that offer a sense of freedom and extension of the structure towards the surrounding plot and nature. This design creates a harmonious balance between the building's urban presence and its connection to the natural landscape.
