The detached house is situated in a serene area of Messolonghi, away from the city center but within a densely populated neighborhood, chosen by many seeking respite from urban life.
Our office prioritized the privacy of the residence by designing and installing vertical metal elements along the edges of the balconies. This solution ensures that the user maintains a sense of openness, whether inside the house or enjoying the outdoor living space on the primary balcony overlooking the street.
The design and construction of the kitchen and main bathroom followed. For the kitchen, special attention was given to creating a highly functional and modern space, reflecting the owner's passion for cooking and daily use of the area. Custom herringbone-patterned kitchen cabinets were meticulously crafted from individual wood pieces, tailored to the user's specifications. Engineered granite was used for the countertops, extending beyond their edges to create a seamless flow within the kitchen.
The kitchen island houses the hob, with a specially designed extractor hood installed directly above it. The stainless steel pipe connecting the hood to the external wall was expertly concealed to ensure both functional performance and an artistic aesthetic. This design introduces a dynamic sense of movement to the ceiling plane, blending functionality with modern elegance. Additionally, custom-made storage furniture was crafted, blending practicality with sculptural beauty to enhance the space further.
In the main bathroom, a combination of soft-toned tiles and tiles with bold patterns was selected to create visual interest and balance. A matte black electric wall radiator, a double-sink vanity, and a frameless mirror of equal length to the vanity contribute to the bathroom's spacious and contemporary design. The goal was to provide a modern yet inviting space with striking focal points that harmonize with the room's functionality
