Three storey bulding

In this project, the architectural office designID was commissioned to design a building intended to house two families of four. The client also requested the inclusion of ground-floor spaces that would accommodate relatives and friends of each family. The design solution consists of two distinct volumes, each housing one family, connected by a central core that contains the stairwell and an elevator providing access to the two residences. A key aspect of this architectural approach is the placement of the bedrooms on the upper floor, above the living areas of the two families. The ground floor is divided into two separate apartments, situated on either side of the central staircase volume, designed to host guests of the families. To soften the building’s mass and enhance its aesthetic appeal, glass panels are positioned approximately 50 centimeters above the parapet of the balconies, allowing for unobstructed views while providing a sense of openness. Additionally, the use of wooden cladding on the structural elements of the balconies creates a balance between the solidity of the building’s volume and the warmth of natural materials, contributing to a harmonious overall design.
