Total house renovation

This project presented an engaging challenge for the designID office, as it involved the renovation of an existing stone building. The property owners, a young couple, decided to undertake a complete renovation, aiming to preserve the stone façade while modernizing the structure to seamlessly integrate it into the urban fabric of the city. A key design element was the enhancement of the first-floor balcony parapet with a glass insert, which adds a dynamic character to the entire façade. This is further complemented by the use of contemporary aluminum finishes in a dark brown-gray tone, lending a modern aesthetic to the building. In alignment with this approach, glass parapets were installed along the right side of the structure, alongside full-height glass panels on the ground floor, creating a seamless and elegant appearance. The second-floor balcony shading, located to the right of the stone façade, features a combination of wood and iron elements, mirroring the materials used for the garage door. These details underscore the modernized design language of the building while maintaining harmony with its original character.
